前回のスピーチ原稿の続きです。

ブータンは、最終的に　人々の幸福量を増やすことを
目標とする政策を採っている。

経済発展さえも、最終目標である人々の幸せを
成し遂げるためのひとつの道具に過ぎないのである。

であるから、経済発展によって自然環境や伝統文化が脅かさ
れるのであれば、そんな経済発展は認められない。

つまり　ブータン人は、もっと大切であると信じているもの
のために、自らの利益を手放す心の用意がある。

Bhutan takes policies that ultimately aim at increasing
the happiness of people.

Professor pointed out that in Bhutan the development of
economy has been positioned as one of tools to achieve
people's happiness.

Therefore they don't accept them if natural environment
or traditional culture should be threatened.

More precisely, they are ready to give up their own
benefits for what they believe is more important.
